Description:The decoration of the main body of the ink-stand features delicate, stylized flowers on lambrequins painted with yellow and green enamel on porcelain. The two-part mounting (base and cover) is entirely made from embossed silver with laurel leaves, berries and ribbon motifs. The likely manufacturer is Samson, renowned for having produced numerous pieces inspired both by the Orient and by pieces of the other main European producers of porcelain during the period.
