Description:Porcelain plate, China, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, c. 1770.
The sunken center of the plate is decorated with peony flowers and branches. In contrast, the rim is embellished with flowering branches. The colors of the polychrome enamels used are grass-green, pea-green and pink. The porcelain is covered with a thick grey-blue glaze. This plate was made in China for export to the West by the "East India Company".
