Description:This self-supporting display case, designed for exhibiting collectable objects, is made from carved sheets of solid mahogany.
The upper section has five sides, each of which features its original pane of (hand-blown and hand-worked) glass.
Glass is also used for the top, to allow as much light as possible to enter the case.
The upper section is supported by four uprights decorated with acanthus leaves.
At the top of the uprights, there are carved swan heads, whereas the base has leonine paws.
This piece of furniture was made in Tuscany and shows both French and British stylistic influences.
