Description:A 35 etching collection , bound, glued on paper, several authors, many subjects: ornate, flora and fauna.
Engravers are: Monogrammer B.P.V., ornates‘s author representing cupids, fantastic animals and acanthus leaves; Theodor Baig, german from Nuremberg, early 17th century.
Known as engraver, drawer and pubblisher. Among his works we remind 12 ornate etchings, some of which are in this collection; Justus Sadeler, (Antwerp 1583- Venice 1620) engraver and print seller.
He travelled in Italy whith his father, Sadeler The Elder, arriving in Venice in 1596 where he died in 1620.
In this collection there are two etchings of him representing flowers and animals.
Provenance: Attilio Simonetti's (Rome 1843-1925) collection. It bears the number 1336 in the goods list completed in 1925 after the painter's death.
The ink flower on the back of one of the etching is plausibly by Attilio Simonetti.
