Description:The painter portrays some typical characters of the Chinese community such as the courtesan, the mandarins, the sages and the warriors. All the silhouettes are set on a neutral background.
Pink and green are the mostly used colors as it had become usual for this kind of works after the first decades of the XVIII century, due to the rococo’ influence imported from Europe.
These works are on rice paper as in the old Chinese tradition.
Paintbrushes flow quickly on the paper according to a thousand-year old tradition enabling the painter to fix on paper the human mind richness, as ShiTao (1642-1718) wrote: "hand follows the painter’s heart".
