An earthenware dinner plate, by Del Vecchio manufacturer, Naples, before 1810.
Description:An earthenware dinner plate, by Fabbrica Gennaro Del Vecchio, Naples, before 1810. The chromatic choice of the floral decoration is similar to the china production of the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea. The colours, carmine, bright green, purplish blue, are the same colours used by the Real Fabbrica for its porcelain wares, and bear witness to the strong initial dependence of earthenware from porcelain. The brim's edge is highlighted by an embossed relief decoration of little stylised palms and blue brush strokes.
